WordPress – Add Tags
A Tag is a keyword or label attached to a post to help identify and categorize its content. Proper tagging makes it easier for visitors to find related posts.
Follow the steps below to add tags in WordPress:
Step (1) − Go to your WordPress dashboard and click on Posts → Tags.
Step (2) − The Tags page will be displayed on the screen.
The following fields are available on the Tags page:
- Name − Enter the name of the tag.
- Slug − A short, descriptive word used in the tag URL.
- Description − Add a brief description of the tag (optional). It may be displayed depending on the theme.
After filling in the required information, click on the Add New Tag button.
Step (3) − The newly created tag will be displayed on the right side of the page, as shown in the following screenshot.
