WordPress – Add Users

In this chapter, we will learn how to add users to your WordPress blog or website. When a user registers on your site, you receive an email notification, allowing you to stay informed about new registrations. You can then log in to your Dashboard and assign or edit the user’s role.

Follow the steps below to add users in WordPress:

Step (1) − Go to Users → Add New in WordPress.

Step (2) − On the Add New User page, enter the user details. Fill in all the required fields (as shown in the following screen) to proceed.

Username (required) − Enter a unique username that will be displayed on the website.

E-mail (required) − Enter a valid email address. The user will receive notifications from the site at this address.

First Name − Enter the user’s first name.

Last Name − Enter the user’s last name.

Website − Enter the URL of the user’s website (if any).

Password (required) − Enter a password for the user.

Repeat Password (required) − Re-enter the same password for confirmation.

Send Password − Check this option to send the login details to the new user via email.

Role − Select the appropriate role from the dropdown menu, such as Subscriber, Contributor, Author, Editor, or Administrator.
