WordPress – Edit Media
In this chapter, we will learn how to Edit Media in WordPress. You can manage and update all the details of your media files stored in the Media Library.
Follow the steps below to edit media in WordPress:
Step (1) − Go to your WordPress dashboard and click on Media → Library, then click on the media item name or the Edit link.
Step (2) − You will see a list of media files. Select any image (or media file) that you want to edit.
Step (3) − The Edit Media page will be displayed, where you can see various options on the right side.
The following options are available on the Edit Media page:
- URL − Displays the link of the media file (read-only).
- Title − Shows the name of the media. It may appear in galleries or attachment pages, depending on the theme or plugins.
- Permalink − The URL of the media attachment page, which can be used to view the file.
- Edit Image − Allows you to modify the image using options like rotate (clockwise/counter-clockwise), scale, crop, and flip (vertical/horizontal).
- Caption − A short description or explanation of the media.
- Alternative Text (Alt Text) − Used to describe the image for accessibility and SEO purposes.
- Description − A detailed explanation of the media file.
- Delete Permanently − Removes the media file permanently from the library.
Step (4) − After editing the required fields, click on the Update button to save the changes made to the media file.
