WordPress – Personal Profile
In this chapter, we will learn how to create a personal profile in WordPress.
Follow the steps below to set up a personal profile:
Step (1) − Go to Users → Your Profile from the left navigation menu.

Step (2) − When you click on Your Profile, the following screen will be displayed.
The following personal options appear on the screen:
- Visual Editor − Enable this option to create, format, and edit posts or pages using the visual editor. If disabled, you won’t be able to use this feature.
- Admin Color Scheme − Change the color scheme of your WordPress dashboard by selecting from the available options.
- Keyboard Shortcuts − Enable this option if you want to use keyboard shortcuts for faster workflow.
- Toolbar − Check this option to display the toolbar while using WordPress.
Name
- Username − Displays your username.
- First Name / Last Name − Enter your first and last name.
- Nickname − Enter a nickname, if any.
Display name publicly as − Choose how your name will appear publicly.
Contact Info
- E-mail − Enter a valid email address.
- Website − Enter your website URL.
About Yourself
- Biographical Info − Add some information about yourself.
- New Password − Enter a new password of your choice.
- Repeat Password − Re-enter the password for confirmation (it should contain at least 7 characters).
- Your Photo − Upload your profile picture from your computer.
Step (3) − After making all the changes, click on the Update Profile button to save them.
